Tax Enquiries

This can be a stressful time and can fall upon any business or individual. With the current powers and penalty regime operated by the Inland Revenue tax enquiries can also be very costly.

Our expertise in dealing with such enquiries comes from years of experience in defending and protecting clients who in many cases have no idea why they find themselves in such a position. It is not an easy matter when records do not fully support argument, but we will ‘fight the corner’ of clients and attend Inland Revenue meetings in their support. If necessary we will challenge unreasonable findings.

Good records can be the saving of clients under enquiry and our first advice is to stress the importance of good personal and business financial records. This is particularly relevant to those embarking on setting up a new business, although it is never too late even for the seasoned business person to adopt a better system for a poor one. We can advise and assist in the best and most efficient way of keeping good records.
